A scrumptious homemade afternoon tea is offered on arrival, and every afternoon of the guests stay, should they wish it, served in the large, comfortable sitting room or on the lawn. They both have good views of the River Torridge and surrounding countryside. The sitting room, with television and DVD player is for the sole use of the guests to sit and relax in. We have a selection of board and card games and a large, eclectic collection of books to be enjoyed during the visit.

A packed lunch can also be provided if required.
For guests walking the Southwest Coast, we can make life easier by transporting your luggage to the next place of stay.
There is ample, secure parking at Springfield.
Instow is situated between Barnstaple and Bideford on the Taw and Torridge estuary and is home to the North Devon Yacht Club and Cricket Club. The legendary Tarka Trail, which is part of the cycle network and the Southwest Coastal footpath, runs right through the village of Instow.
Instow is a lovely quiet seaside town with beautiful views and good eateries. Springfield is just a short stroll from the seafront and has great views across the estuary. Lucinda and Edward are welcoming and friendly hosts who knock up a delicious breakfast and made us feel very much at home in their elegant house. The Linwood room is a very spacious and bright room with huge windows looking over both the estuary and garden, the king size bed was extremely comfortable and the lovely deep bath in the adjacent bathroom ideal for a good wallow after a walk. All in all a wonderful place to stay for a relaxing break in a good location for exploring north Devon.
